this is bluddy hilarious!

1 journalism degree + 1 law degree... and she can't write!

the first time this happened.. she was sitting in one of her journalism classes years ago..

the tutor read out a line and told the class to furnish it...

furnish it...in FIVE minutes mind you...

whilst everyone put their heads down and let their imaginations take them to people and places ... to scents and smells... colours and textures....

she sat there staring at her peice of paper... remarkably blank but for the blue lines...

as the pens around her scratched frantically to the ticking clock... she sat and she stared...

"come onnnnnnnnnnn write something" said the little voice in her head... "Write something... "... not only that... it was "write something remarkable... something magnificent... a story thats never been told before...."

and then..

..the tutor yelled "pens down" and that was that.

Each student was told to read their story aloud... "bluddy GREATTTTTTTTTT" she had thought sinking lower into her chair...

and as each student read their stories... which were all MAGNIFICENT... she sat and prayed that she was invisible.... she prayed that the fire alarm would go off... she prayed that the sole asian girl in that class would not be noticed...

FAT CHANCE!

"Becki... read us what you wrote"

she cleared her throat...
and then she did it again...

"Mon: 15032003 - Magazine Journalism, Day 1"

"... go on.." the tutor urged...

"..and thats it"

"5 minutes and u wrote the date???..."

".. uhmm... yes"...

and then silence...

they were all waiting.. the whole class... waiting for the inevitable... waiting for the lecture.. waiting for the little asian girl to be TSK'ed

... well it happened... and she survived

but she did not leave that room that day unscathed..

for till this day... she has not yer conquered her inability to write like she used to..

with flair.. with originaility, creativity and ambition...


perhaps oneday.. and perhaps it may never come back.. but hay.. this is as good a start as any...
