beccs business: intermission 2

so im sitting here on this very hot spring sunday... in my nice air conditioned room with a glass of iced coffee, michael buble playing softly in the background... having finished the last of my christmas shopping this morning... im unusually relaxed for this time of year...

relieved that i made it through yet another year of crazy shoppers and pram rammers and happy that i finally have presents to place under our annual xmas tree.. which happens to look a little like this this year:

it seems that our lovely $8 tree is nearing the end of its life as each year goes on it starts looking more and more withered and naked and bare...

when i get a house of my own... ill have the BEST xmas tree but until then this povo one will have to do!

so anyway, just another little update in between travelling posts... (ill catch up eventually!)

my manager, workmates and the ex-pats organised a bday lunch for me at pier 26, twas very special...then the bigger team had a surprise afternoon tea, bday party for me in the kitchen afterwards...

@ HOME

mum made this duck delicacy, my brother bought me a cake and we had cat over for dinner, i never felt so loved!

@ HARBOUR KITCHEN + BAR

dan took me to the Harbour Kitchen + bar at the hyatt hotel @ the rocks... it was trully beautiful...

@ HIGH TEA @ THE VICTORIA ROOM WITH HV

i remember all those years ago when i turned 21, my cousin took me to high tea at the sheraton on the park... and i recall really enjoying it....so,in commemoration of both our bdays, HV and i decided to go for some high tea, we had so much fun that we ended up staying there for some crazy amount of time like 3 hrs or something just chit chatting and catching up which is always very lovely... the place itself was beautiful, quirky...but beautiful all the same...

and thennnnnnnn ... my wonderful bday was topped off with a lovely laos (surprise) dinner at mariis! at the end of it i was pooped and all bday'ed out but it was all so fun!

...anyhoos, that was just the beginning of the november birthdays.. seeing that most of my girls were november babies...

next was sweet chris' bday bbq and housewarming!

next was Marii's bday celebrations which she didnt end up making it to cos she was sick ...very unfortunate... but the party went ahead anyway, cat made (at tram and dung's suggestion) salmon fishhead canh chua (vietnamese sour soup) and her specialty, the accompanying fish dish... it was all very yummy!!! cats the best cook!

Anniversary @ Luna Park

...when we first met, or should i say in the period when danny was courting me (haha), i had for my icq message "i wish i was special... you're so fucken special" (radiohead- 'creep') cos i loved that song at the time... and then one day danny appeared and had as his message, "you are special... you're so fucken special" haha and so him winning this ugly stuffed toy with the words "so special" had quite a meaning behind it...

before that, on the actualy day we had icecream .... and before we went to luna park... we ate ate my favourite favourite bbq chicken joint.. HABIBS...nYummmmmmmmmmmm! every first bite every time i go..is heaven!!
