Random Entry: Day 16 - Singapore

we woke up at 4am to head to the airport only to find that our budget airline was too budget to open up check-in early.

when we finally made it on our plane, there was severe turbulence, at one point there was a roller coaster like drop mid-air in which everybody shrieked and the chick who was sitting next to danny who was really snobby, actually grabbed danny's arm in fear... he felt like a hero hahaha

it shut husky voice thai chick up for the first time in 2 hrs!

arrived at singapore and was hurriedly ushered off to the customs offic for bringing in duty free cigarettes! was told that tax of $80 had to be paid on top of the $16 i paid for the carton i was going to give to danny's dad for a present...needless to say i had the carton destroyed instead!

stayed at the holiday inn atrium hotel which was decent, seeing that we couldnt find any last minute accomodation... this place would have been grand in its heyday i rekon...

walked about orchard rd and went abit crazy in topshop then got interviewed on camera on the street! SG TV! haha depite my repeated protestations about NOT being a local, i dont quite think they were listening and kept asking me about the singaporean shopping experience, i told them i had been in the country for about 2 hrs! and wasnt really sure! and they kept asking me similar questions anyway!

went to bugis market, simlim electronica and then Lau Pa Sat for singaporean chilli crab! (barluck's chilli crab is better)...

visited Raffles Hotel! and had my breath taken away! the granduer...the opulence... the history and the beauty!!! WOW! it was a really pleasant experience...

we also visited the famous ZOUK nightclub that night which happened to be like across the road from where we were staying... it was ladies night so free for meee! it was also retro night...with people dancing in tandem with same moves to specific songs it seemed like they did it every week! haha it was quite an experience, it was smaller than we expected but it was interesting all the same!

Random Entry: Day 17 - Singapore

had breakfast at the temp.chinese market it was soooooooooooooooooooo bluddy cheap at $2 a pop for laksa!

took the MRT to the Esplanade (the MRT was a bargain! we can buy the ticket, use it and then have $1 refunded upon arrival at the destination! awesome!)

The Esplanade itself is sort of like the equivalent of our opera house, a centre for fine arts...

walked down the promenade to Marina Bay where the big Merlion stood... nice views.

then walked and checked out kampong glam (arab town) and little india - both were really cool... its like how we have chinatown...

then off to Orchard Rd for more shopping!

caught a train to Harbourfront and then caught a cable car to... SENTOSA!

the Sentosa light and sound show has got to be one of the best light shows ive ever seen! other than that we rode the toboggins and went around there having fun! fun! and fun!

on the way back we stopped by viva city and then rushed to the dohby gust shops for some last minute shopping!

It was a hectic two days but every moment of it was great!
