some things to ponder about

i realised that although i do have some strong views upon some societal issues, i haven't written much about anything outside my comfort zone.

afterall, as they say 'politics and pleasure should never mix'

today i feel like mixing it up abit.(*RrreOwww")

ive always thought of myself as more of a Labor party supporter

why? because i support the blue collar people...

i believe that people who need the support of our government are entitled to it
...by this i mean the people who legitimately NEED financial assistance...

the legitimate single parents
the legitimately impoverished
the legitimately handicapped

social welfare ranks highly on my scale
and people who are priviledged should NOT rort the system... that is called GREED.

yes by this i mean... if you are NOT a single parent.. DO NOT fake it to get money
if you are NOT living away from home.. DO NOT claim away from home allowance..

sure you're splurging on pleasures with that extra income... but there are people out there who are REALLY struggling to put food on the table and your selfishness makes it harder for them to apply!

food for thought.

i think that medicare should be free, i believe in equal access to healthcare.

no matter how convincing the argument against medicare is... i don't feel that people who can not afford private health insurance should wait 5 years for a bloodtest.

education should be free! putting a price on education would only further push the divide between rich and poor...

the rich will only get richer and the poor will always be poor.

people on welfare should not be viewed as a burden on society... by this i discount the LAZY BUMS in the category... but the people who simply can not make ends meet... i am pretty sure they did not ask to be poor, i am pretty sure that they are trying their darndest to make things better.

i am also pro-choice.

the choice to abort should rest with individuals, and gay people should have a choice to marry without the societal uproar dredged between them...and women... they should have a right to decide whether or not they want to breast feed...afterall it IS their body and these people should not be viewed as BAD MOTHERS.

this is just a snippet of my views in brief.. and sure you may disagree...

but next time you que at the local centrelink with your fake away from home allowance form.... or that fake single parent form...

... think about that chronically ill widow with two children, that widow who by a stroke of badluck lost her husband, was deserted by his family, was given poison instead of cough medicine by the pharmiscist which almost killed her.. struggling to put food on the table for the kids and to provide some sort of healthy home for them.. the two children who lost their father and who were almost orphaned...the two children who's only toys consist of old donations and things made from their imaginations.. the two children who live each day wondering what the next will bring...
